Re: best tire pressure?
you know what actually... I have one of those digital tire gauges, and I also have one with a actual gauge / needle, and the digital one is not very accurate. Maybe I just have a cheap one, but I would trust the pressure gauge over a digital one based on my experience.

I keep my front tires a bit higher pressure than the rear tires (34 front, 32 rear) to make up for my tendency to corner hard. One other note - measure tire pressure when the tires are "cold" - you haven't driven anywhere & the sun's not on one side/end of the car more than the other. |

Re: best tire pressure?
The slide ones are pretty inaccurate so I wouldn't use them to calibrate your digital gauge. Personally, I went with the standard version of this one: QuickCar Tire Gauge (standard, glow face or liquid filled)

If you get a good digital, those are more precise because of fewer moving parts, but cheap digitals are really no more accurate than cheap mechanicals. I prefer my mechanical dial gauge which holds the needle on the reading till you release the pressure. A lot easier to read.

Re: best tire pressure?
lol he's one of those guys
![]() desolator if you live where it gets really hot during the day and cools off a lot at night the tire pressure will flucuate a lot. I have to chek my tires once a week cause az is ridiculous hot then cools way off at night. i have 225/40/r18 and i run 40 psi. You should run 32-34.

The reason for the Max Tire Pressure on the tire is to match the tire with the vehicle. Say you have a F350 which is 60psi front and 80psi rear you need tires that can hold 80psi or more. As for our cars the lowest you usualy see a max tire pressure is 40psi. Therefore you have a tire that can hold what our cars need. With stock tires I wouldn't go no more than 35psi with the 215's and 33psi with the 205's. And wouldn't go no lower than 29psi with the 215's and 27psi with the 205's.
