Are these rims clear coated?
http://img508.imageshack.us/my.php?i...sc00772eu8.jpg
Are they factory clear coated? I am asking because I dont know if I should polish them, or just clean them and apply wax to make them shine (like they shine in that picture, when I first got the car from the previous owner).

Re: Are these rims clear coated?
Those wheels are machined, so they're clear-coated. Just apply some wax after a thorough cleaning.

And after cleaning, will the wax make it shine nicely and protect them? Reccomend a wax that I should use for the rims.

Re: Are these rims clear coated?
i would bet that 99.9 percent of wheels would be clear coated so i dont see how yours would be an exception.

I would recommend using a good Cleaner/Wax for the wheels. In general, our wheels have a harsher environment to endure than our paint, so a good Cleaner Wax will remove more contaminants than a regular protective wax. For example, I use Meguiar's Gold Class Wax on my paint, and Meguiar's Cleaner Wax on my wheels. You can't go wrong with Meguiar's, Mother's or any of the other well known brands. Essentially, do not use anything on your clearcoated wheels that you would not use and/or is not safe for on your paint. Good luck.
