Mazda MPV calipers

So my buddy has a 2000 MPV with the 2.5L and we were doing a complete brake job on it. I noticed it had two piston calipers up front. He paid about $200 for 2 loaded calipers with a $50 core on each (I know I would probably want to get different pads with these because typically the pads that come with loaded calipers are ****). I was wondering if anyone knew enough about what all is shared between the MPV platform and the Cougar? I did take a rough measurement from between the two bolts that hold the caliper on, and it was ~6.25". Anyone know what the Cougar's is? Or in the process of a brake job and mind measuring?
This would be a very inexpensive and effective mod I think to upgrade to 2 piston calipers so any imput before I go out and buy a set with my tax rebate would be wonderful!

Re: Mazda MPV calipers

I checked those out at Pick n Pull last week. The mounting holes on the MPV calipers are WAY too far apart to bolt up to our knuckle. I checked it against a Contour caliper. No go.

why not make an adaptor bracket to mount those with. I've just completed 300mm front and 276mm rear...the stable braking it gives is well worth the effort that it takes to install. Any chance of a photo of these calipers ?...G.
