Not so new New Cougar...

Hey All I was cruising around the internet wasting company money and foundthis site on the Newer cougars, I've been looking at picking one up with a blown motor and attempting the 3.0 L swap(looks like fun) and anyway I liked a lot of what I saw on here so I registered.

I also had a question that I figured the FANatics here could answer. About what should a 99 cougar with about 92K and a blown motor be worth?

Thanks!

well... WORKING 1999 cougars fetch between $2500 and $4000. So a blown one, maybe a couple bucks?

other than the blown engine and the fact that the aftermarket sound system was pulled (correctly no shot wires no broken panels) the car is in fairly pristine shape. I'd say Good to Excellent condition if those factors are discounted.

*EDIT*

Also 5 speed and leather interior since I missed that in both of the first two attempts at posting :-P

Re: Not so new New Cougar...

Well, first off, WELCOME!!!

As for the coog, If it was my money I'd say no more than $1000 to $1250. But then, the parts are worth a lot more than that.

Re: Not so new New Cougar...

ooh, 5 speed and leather is a plus... the transmission in good condition? (not that it really matters, since with a 3.0L you will want a new clutch, flywheel and LSD)

It originally was a V6 right? If it was an I4, I think I remember reading that a 3L can't be done.
