Smile New cougar owner in des moines IA

hey guys i got a 2000 cougar from my gf's mom (came stock with primemer paint BUT next week or the week after that its getting painted a dark blue plus the car came with a body kit on it) but only bought it for 500$ =) only problems is need a new front left end wheel bearing and a loose vaccum hose on block two and thats it (getting those fix tommorow) its a V6 2.5 and try doing some race's with it ... dose alright destorys eclipse and all that but got destoryed by a 3000GT vr 4 turbo lol but anyways its a auto and i been noticeing that when i run the red line it takes a awhile for it to shift gears? like by the time i get beat by the other guy i get the burst of speed any ideas what is causeing that or is that normal for a auto? (the sunfire GT we have dont shift like that) also plan on putting in a cold air and hp[fully a mod chip (would there been any parts that would need added for more speed?? (i heard they dont make a turbo for a cougar is that true?)

Anyways, welcome to neco. Iowa is a great place, i visit lake view at least once a year.

I'm not to sure about your leak problem but as for your car being slow... get used to it, auto cougars are sloths.

A turbo would be nice for your automatic because it will keep the boost up in the high RPM's and would be much cheaper than a 3.0 engine swap and new tranny.

Search, there is tons of information on almost anything and most stuff has been covered by now.

Re: New cougar owner in des moines IA

what's 'stock premier paint'? what color is it? I could be wrong, but don't think there were any colors that were considered above the others.

(unless yours is citrus gold, then yes - that's the best of all the colors and you should leave it that color instead of the blue you have planned )

Welcome and great deal on the car !
