Re: Assy CUSTOM REAL WIDE BODY ( update 02/11, rear bumper )

my car has been in the shop for over 2 years. when you restore, you strip it down (same time as stripping a custom job down) you assess the situation (same as custom). now here is where its different. with a restoration you open a catalog and order what you need then you strip all the rust, weld in whatev bosy panels you need and then you put it back together. with a custom job you have to make almost everything and the plan keeps changing. then the primer and paint takles almost the same time, but the prep is different. actually the paint will take longer for custom b/c its usually some sort of multi-phase paint and prep is more important. so whoop-dee-fcuking-doo you restored a car over the summer. so did a lot of people. now yes you get credit for being able to do that, thats great, but assy gets more props b/c he has more creativity and is doing something totally one-off.

so just chill

heres the thing you need to understand, and its a common problem on the internet. people type words and intend them to come across as though they were spoken. you also have to understand that you only had 8 posts so no one knows you. now if bbox or norcal said the same thign everyone would be laughing b/c they know those guys are just being funny douches. no one knows you so we don't know your tone. and even with the first sentence that i just quoted is not funny b/c we don't know you. i am sure you have been on the other side of a situation similar to his and i am sure you flamed a noob for doing something you and your peers do all the time b/c you thought he was being serious.

Re: Assy CUSTOM REAL WIDE BODY ( update 02/11, rear bumper )

wow.
who's this mis-informed nimrod that thinks a resto of a 69 C-10 can compare to a cougar. i think its taken me a total of 8 hours to resto a 71 C10's suspension AND bag it....but its all bolt on and the parts are readily accessable.

Assy is also in belgium....he has a job FIRST then his car....which is amazingly complicated. Fabrication and replacing parts are two different topics.

resto-replace
custom- fabricate
