I told myself i was done, But here's cougar number 9

like the title says heres number 9

2001 Cougar c2, 112k on the clock, bought her for $750
she has/needs a blown headgaket, bad alternator, tranny slips in reverse, the sunroof track is broken, the passenger side fender has a good size scrape and the interior needs a professional detail

and then for the shocker, i just picked up a engine out of a 2001, that comes with the engine, transmission, starter, alternator, p/s pump, a/c compressor as well as everything else you see in the picture for $250 and they only have about 10,000 miles on them

Seven cougars sold and one to go
04 Grand Prix GTP, headers, 3inch down pipe, 3.4inch s/c pulley box & street tuned
    07 Ram 2500 QCSB 4x4 5.9 Cummins

I agree with Tygerr on a nice find. I didn't know you could find good deals like these around. After all the cash for clunkers bs finding a good cheap car is impossible.

thanks guys, i try my best to find good deals,
So far not much has been done to the car outside of getting it transported to my home, in a few days the car as well as its new engine and transmission will be towed to a friend of mines shop where the engine and transmission will be installed, this guy is a true pro on working on cars.
He is ASE and GM certified and gave me a price of 500-600 bucks for the install, giving a total investment of 1500-1600 bucks add a few bucks for fluids and everyone knows stuff always breaks when you rearrange an entire engine bay

As the title states this is my 9th 99-02 mercury cougar as well as my 14th car, wednesday i picked up a 2000 chevy impala with 123k miles that i am going to rehab but needs minor repair, i paid $1150 and plan to have no more then $1800 invested and sell it somewhere around $3,000

    theres my update!

Re: I told myself i was done, But here's cougar number 9

a month and a half later i have an update, drove the cougar home today with the new engine and trans, had a real bumpy road with the engine because the last guy was so careless at getting it out of the last car and broke alot of stupid little things, turns out it didn't need an alternator someone had just removed a few of its fueses...??

Anyway it really cleaned up well going through the carwash, heres a pic of it getting gas

now for one of my other cars,
Right now i own a 04 Grand Prix GTP for a DD, friday night i was heading home going down HWY 30 when i looked down at the tech gauge and saw my RPMs were at about 5,000 rpms... thought weird for crusing at 70mph, so i pop the car into manual mode (paddle shifters) where it displays on the heads up display what gear you are in, sure enough i was in 2nd gear... i thought aww crap this isnt good, turned off the radio and shifted it back into 4th only to here rattles.... and yelled some choice words and said its 1am im not sitting on the side of the hwy for a tow truck so i just kept cursing the last few miles back to my house, got home and popped the hood to see this

EVERYTHING was covered in oil even pools of oil on my supercharger

So i just closed the hood and went in the house, got on craigslist and found a guy in Minneapolis selling the engine out of a 06 Grand Prix GT (superchargered they just lost the GTP package in 06) with only 4,700 original miles that had been wrecked then repaird and had alot of titling issues so the owner decided to part it out, So I called the guy and got him down to $850 for everything from the s/c to the oil pan including all the accessories, i almost wet myself with the awesome deal, ill be picking the motor up tuesday and should have the Grand Prix back on the road within the week, until then i will be rocking a cougar again!

Idk a friend thinks I could have cracked a block or blew a head gasket/lower intake gasket but another guy thinks I might have blown a oil pressure line (didnt know these cars had oil coolers),but I had been fighting a low oil pressure issue, the light would come on randomly and at any time and I had the guy that put the motor in the blue cougar coming ou the next day with a oil pressure tester to test it, oddly enough this motor decided it hated life within a mile of where my first cougar spun its bearings! Lol but back then I would actually get upset when an engine blew
