These will be my last pictures for a while. Hopefully I get to use the computer in NC, lol. I'll be busy though, with a real job, thank God! I haven't worked in months and it'll be nice to have money in my pocket again!
Anyhow, I started thinking today. My Cougar will be changing quite a bit in the near future. I have MAJOR plans for my car and NEVER plan on getting rid of it unless something happens to it so, time is on my side (and have plans on getting a cheap beater). I wanna reminisce for a sec though. I got it April 11, 2007. I was 17, and finishing my senoir year and had heard that a friend of mine was selling her Cougar. Actually it was her grandparents but whatever. I had seen it at school a few times and would always molest her and her car about it,it had 94K miles and that nearly threw me off. I talked to her and her grandparents and my mom did too about the condition of the car, previous accidents or anything and all was well. I got to inspect it myself before we bought it, I drove it nearly 50 miles and said SOLD. It was soo solid (minus the busted strut), the stock V6 was sound and strong and the MTX shifted great. SOLD. I've ALWAYS been into cars in general but since the NE Cougars were released in 1998-99 I was infactuated with them (even being 8-9 years old at the time) So, it was nice to get a ''dream'' car of mine as my first car.
Today, it's came a LOONNG way since early 2007 IMO. I want to run through what I've done: Super clean SVT UIM and LIM from 98CSVT, SVT TB from 99CSVT, new ATX (SVT SPEC) throttle cable from teamford, FULL K&N SRI, Taylor Thundervolt 8.2mm wires, R1 Rotors, SVT Clutch disc, Flywheel, and PP, regular seafoam treatments along with oil...everything maintenance has been done to the car you could think of. Asthetically: clear corners, restored headlight lenses, HID conversion, polished IMRC, IACV, billet oil cap, cleaned and painted calipers and brackets, body matched grilled (ugh), painted wiper arms (black).
The future: (TO GET TO COUGARFEST 2010) Powdercoated timing cover (black and how sweet would that look?) underdrive alternator pulley and power steering, battery relocation to the trunk, WW or Roush kit, Roush spoiler, Silver and Black Kaminari hood, new Cougar seal plates in the door jams, lowered (next to be done along with full exhaust) sand blast and re-powdercoat UIM (I want it blacker) you can't tell in the picture but my valve covers are much blacker than the UIM and it drives me insane, Centerline wheels and that's about it. Ultimately I want a spare 2.5L to build myself. ported and polished heads, SVT cams, SVT pistons, clevite bearings, K1 rods. Just a strong N/A 2.5L is all I need (add aTorsen LSD to that to be done list too) . The 3Ls are just torque, traction troubled monsters...but they're still awesome. I'll keep you guys informed as much as possible. Wish me luck. I'm missing so much crap in that list already.
The first day I had it.
Engine work as of today. Silver and black is an amazing color combo.
Picture a black timing cover.
Tried to incorporate the moon into the shot.
