So I was working on a project that required I duplicate the COUGAR S font, and I was working off the one on the Engine Badge. But I noticed it didn't look quite right, so I dug through my parts box to compare it to the rear lettering... and discovered the following.
![]() ![]() The fonts don't match from the engine to the trunk. We'll strike that up as another success for the Cougar Marketing Team. ![]() What's interesting though is that the Floormats use the same font style as the Trunk (photo courtesy of Drewmanfu0) ![]() ![]() So the mystery is, why did they do this? Why create a brand, an icon, a font, and then use a completely different one on only one part? Why the inconsistency? The world may never know. Last edited by DEVIOUSDEV; 08-07-2008 at 03:21 AM. |

Re: Another mystery of the COUGAR S. This time the fonts.
And for the curious (and those searching for "Cougar Font")
The font on the trunk is a modified version of "Futura Medium" And the Engine Badge font is a modified version of "Moderne Demi" I've gone ahead and modified them both in Vector form, which you can download as an Illustrator file, here. (If it adds a .ps at the end when you download it, just delete and make sure it ends in .ai) ![]() Last edited by DEVIOUSDEV; 08-07-2008 at 03:03 AM. |

Re: Another mystery of the COUGAR S. This time, the fonts.
I could've sworn we figured it out to be a version of Avant Garde. I think I have it at home.
