If you were able to scratch powder doing an install then you had a **** powdercoating job. The whole point of powder vs paint is its resistance to damage, it's the reason my wheels were powdercoated and not painted. Seriously, I've had a powdercoating booth in our shop for 4 years now, and not once has a customer scratched items we've done.

Exactly. Not only that it's safer for the environment. No VOCs are emitted into the atmosphere during the powdercoat process. The powdercoat job on my valve covers still looks great. I think the only scratch I have on my strut bar is from when I dropped it . so as long as you don't drop it or take it for a ride, you should be okay.

Also only clean it with soap and water, no harsh cleaners or degreasers.
