Glovebox Thermostat & Temp Panel

Well, I finally decided to get a new digital thermostat for my car since the one I currently have is crap. When my current thermostat reaches the "on" threshold temperature, you can hear the relay buzz like crazy until it gets a few degrees above the threshold temp. I don't like that at all, so I'm going to throw that thing away.

Sorry, this picture is pretty bad, I really should buy a digital camera soon

Since my glove box used to be a fridge, the plastic has all this left over silicon and caulk all over it so I decided to cover everything with some outdoor carpet I have left over from a ramp I built for my dogs. There is a huge hole in the back of the glove box where the thermoelectric cooling module and heat sinks used to be.

Here is a good picture of the panel insert

Panel insert inside the glove box:

In this last picture you can see my little kit sled.. I didn't want to scratch my glove box all over the cement.

I used the dakota digital PAC-2000 thermostats. Each thermostat can control two devices. I'm going to use one thermostat module for the two cooling fans. The other module will control the water pump and a buzzer (buzzes when temp goes above 220F). The gauge in the center is a digital coolant temp gauge.

Re: Glovebox Thermostat & Temp Panel

Well, I had to change a few things around. I forgot that I wanted to install my inverter control panel and a receptacle in there also. I ran out of room for the second thermostat module, but I'll probably just mash it behind the glovebox somewhere if I end up needing it.

Since I had to move the circular coolant gauge to the left, there was a visible hole between the gauge and the inverter panel, so I put that rubber stuff around the inverter panel to hide the hole.

That is completely unnecessary.
