It was ostensibly an SVT Contour with a Cougar body.

3.0 was never an option.

The transaxle switch was a European option; not offered in the states.

Just to clarify, on the Automatic (not Manual/Stickshift) Cougars, there is an S/E switch by the gearstick, to switch between Sport and Economy modes. I'm pretty sure all Automatic gearbox Cougars have it.

Actually, the site with the car listed for sale says it has the 3.0L and the Mondeo AWD system:
