Custom Intake(SVT Focus=i4 cougar)

Well over the weekend, we chopped up a full SVT focus CAI intake to be a nice little intake for my i-4. We started out just seeing if we could fit the whole thing in there, but it went about 3 inches under the car, or hit the hood either way, or just totally didnt fit at all, so we decided to just chop it up to make a nice little one, that would still be pretty functional...so here are some progress pics along the way...

Filter Anybody? Also, the MAF fits perfectly with a little shaving of the plastic around the attachment

I forgot what this hose does, but we attached it

We just took the little square box out of the stock air box and attached it here, we could have just bought another hose clamp but we had already ben to the hardware store 3 times...but hey! It works!

My camera died as we put the filter on...but you can just imagine one there im sure...

Turns out it runs great, and sounds amazing! Its all swwwoooooooosh, from the air sucking in, and i think it turned out great for some miter saw cuts!

I also cant beleive after all the mock up's we did, the AEM still came out visable!

Total cost $5.85 for Hose clamps, jeez those are marked up...

wow, that seems like a really long pipe to me for some reason. looks good though.

i don't like that first bend at all. the U pipe is totally unnecessary, and will have a negative impact on performance.

Well without going through the hood, or a 90 degree angle its the only way...and the pictures dont give it justice...its more of a sweeping C than a U...lol
