transfering tables with an X-cal

i have two ecu's. One is an SVT (RJL1), the other is a stock 2.5 (RARE). I want to take the SVT tables and put them on my stock one...can i do this with one X-cal ? will it be locked to just one ecu. I want to do this because the stock ecu runs my trip computer and the SVT doesn't or can i switch this function on in the SVT ecu ...anyone know ? G.

Are you sure the trip computer is controlled by the ECU? I have an SVT ECU in my car and everything works fine

i think it was cbman that said that; almost anything could be done with an x-cal. I just need to know if it can extract the tables and a combination of the two, be uploaded to the ecu...G.

Hi G.

Just been busy on the forum I bought, emanageforums it is coming from a pretty low base, but I thought seeing I was going down the path to tune the PV with the emanage I should buy the forum (it was about to fold, so got it at a pretty good price). Have changed the focus to tuning, and really enjoying the challenge of being a forum owner.

I still keep tabs on most places, just cannot spend much time as I have also started work two days a week, after nine years on the sidelines due to illness.

So all is going well.

One would think if you can flash both then it would be a pretty straight forward matter of updating. The only issue I can forsee is which one of the outputs sends the information to the dash/trip computer. If you find that, you may find that the svt simply doesnt have a wire going out from there any more. I would say that the information would be on alldata as to the pinout differences.

My guess is that there is simply no output from the ecu at all, or it may be a simple case of moving a pin to another output??

Also wasn't your ecu euro spec??

Re: transfering tables with an X-cal

yes it is euro spec. Some of the SVT guys have said and shown trip computers..so i'm lost for the reason it doesn't work. I'm hoping i can put the relevant tables onto my stock ecu and get around it that way. I have the SVT cams coming so i want to get the most from them. So far nobody with an x-cal has said either way if you can disassemble two ecu's and make one with just one x-cal..great news with the forum...you really might breakout of the stalemate with help from others...best of luck..G.
