Apexi

Just a question tom,

Does this apexi potentially do the same as the greddy unit?

Just wondering if I should add this type of thing to my watch list?

Thanks

Re: Apexi

Not worth it imo...

Works better on FI factory cars...

Re: Apexi

I use one on my Cougar. It's a great tool for small adjustments. I use it with my wideband sensor to adjust the air/fuel if it gets out of range. It taps into the same wires the Greddy unit does, but the Greddy unit has the possiblity for more options.

Re: Apexi

i am in blackcoogs position. i used it to tune my 2.5, throttle response, and torque, and high gear, low speed gaining speed ability. it feels so much better now and im pulling over 20% fuel. i wish i could touch timing, which would be crucial, but it has definetely improved my engine. for the 80 i paid for it i love it, for 400, xcal, sct or greddy.

Re: Apexi

Thanks for the feedback guys.

So the fact that the greddy has the ignition wire harness, is this what makes it superior to the apexi unit?

Also I guess the ability to plug a greddy into a pc makes it much more flexible and good for datalogging as Tom said in another post.

Re: Apexi

Greddy doesn't make an ignition harnesses for our cars. Tom had to custom make his own harness to control the timing. It didn't sound like an easy job.

Re: Apexi

Search the old CEG boards for "emanage" if you want to learn more.

Re: Apexi

Apexi does work the same way as the emanage with regard to the MAF adjustment, but lacks all the other features.

It is a very good tool for dialing in your air fuel ratio after you are already "in the ball park" with your tune.

I would pick one up if the price was right considering you want to gain a bit more horsepower on your engine.

It does have a better display than the emanage...unless you buy the GReddy E01 and hook it up. However the E01 is about $600 !!!
