maf location

i have a custom cougars cai same setup as the gmk.... i was wondering if anyone has move the maf into the bumper with the filter to get a better a/f reading??? i talked to a guy at a tuning place called running with the devil (where i picked up a xcal2) he told me to move the maf for a better a/f reading.... thanks for any input

yes, i think both of those are down next to the fuse box area...where the hole for the cai passes through the floor.

well i moved my maf... its in the bumper with the filter... weather it helped or not idk

also does anyone know if the resistance in 18g wire is different than 22g and if so would it effect readings from the maf?

Yes they will theres a reason they use what they use. Even if the resistance changes by even .1 volts thats a change for ECU's that measure everything .1-5volts

A maf doesn't read Air Fuel. Changing the position may work just fine or it may throw off the readings on the airflow a little bit and you would use your xcal2 to adjust it in. Without a turbo/supercharger there is no real reason to move the MAF. The CAI will work fine with the MAF in the stock location.
Either way it is no big deal as you can use your xcal2 to dial in the maf.

Looking at your setup fordrule makes me think that it would definitely fit my PV very nicely.

and I don't think I would have to move the battery
