CD4E Plug?

There is a round plug on the top of the transmission next to the Lever position sensor. I need to know what this plug is.

Here is the deal. I am having tranny problems (whoo big shock for the CD4E). When I have everything plugged in the way it needs to be, I can put it in drive/second/first and nothing happens. I can put the gas to the floor (not that I would) and nothing. But, if I unplug this round plug the car will move. It won't come out of first, and won't go over 20 mph, but it moves. When I plug it back in nothing.

I have checked all the tell tell signs of a bad tranny, but nothing seems to be wrong. As I was looking it up on the net, I found a lot of people referencing electrical issues. The only one I could find any details on was the MLPS and I replaced it. That didn't do anything.

I am just thinking if I can find out what that round plug it, and am able to track each wire down I might find something in the wiring that will fix this problem. If any of you can tell me what it is, and any other information on possible electrical issues that would be great!

Re: CD4E Plug?

I think that plug is for the shift solenoids... I remember hearing somewhere that the elcetrical wiring inside the ATx for the solenoids get burnt and won't let the car shift correctly, or even get as bad as not moving at all... Must be grounding out or something and telling the ecu not to open the solenoids or something...

Just a possibility, but hopefully someone else will chime in here...

Re: CD4E Plug?

2nd and 4th are linked together somehow aren't they? Same planetary or something? If that's the case i'd say something far worse is going on in there other than an electrical issue...
