Serious tranny problem MTX

I can't get into 2nd, 4th, and reverse on my shifter anymore. How do I fix it? I was installing a new short throw shifter and now I can't even get into those gears on the stock one.

Is there something that I can do?

Moving to the Trans forum. Good luck- I believe you've popped a shift cable out, 'cause it appears your lower gate isn't opening...

Re: Serious tranny problem MTX

i don't think that the linkage came off if you can get the rest of the gears. sounds like the cable are out of adjustment.

Re: Serious tranny problem MTX

As mentioned above there must be an issue with your cables. You can get access to them if you pull your driver's side wheel off. They are on the back of the transmission toward the top.

Re: Serious tranny problem MTX

Possible the grommet for the cable is completely gone and popped the cable off. Seen it a couple times on these cars.
