I was at our local club meet in Mankato on saturday and saw some pretty cool stuff. One thing i saw was a shift relocator assembly for a old 69 or 70's mustang. This was very simple as it was just a bar going from the original shifter location back to new location where it connected to a shifter allowing normal operation if you can imagine. My question is who makes this for our cars since we have a poorly located shifter in this car.

Re: Relocate shifter farther back...?(less reaching)
where do you want to move it to?
it wont work the same as on the older cars cause they use a mechinical (too early to spell) linkage, we use cables |

Yeah I don't really have a problem with mine. Maybe you need to get rid of the gangster lean and put the seatback back where it belongs.

jackass comments aside...
I think the bigger problem would be that if its any further back, you would have to start making modifications to the ebrake handle aswell, right? |

Re: Relocate shifter farther back...?(less reaching)
If your shifter is stock you shouldn't have any trouble reaching it unless you are a little person (dwarf, elf, etc.). If you cut it down then you may have issues reaching it. You would probably have to build custom cables that go from the shift tower to the shifter if you wanted to attempt this.
