Re: Zetec Speedo Gear??
For a Quaife install, yes; but not for a Torsen. I re-used my Duratec speedo gear for my Torsen.
The Duratec speedo gear is also obsolete, for the record...

Re: Zetec Speedo Gear??
I pressed the speedo gear onto my torsen diff before taking apart the transmission, and to my suprise there was a "trigger wheel" and not the speedo gear.
I was able to get a new trigger wheel from the local dealer, but I had to get another new carriage bearing too. http://www.newcougar.org/forums/tran...ger-wheel.html

Re: Zetec Speedo Gear??
Skywalker, I figured you have a 4-cylinder Zetec engine since the word Zetec is in the thread title, and that's why I put in my $0.02.
Anyway, you should probably just go with whatever is already on your tranny. Its probably possible to remove the inner bearing race from your stock diff so that you can reuse the speedo gear or trigger wheel that you already have.

Re: Zetec Speedo Gear??
Yes, it is possible but it sucks balls to get it off. lol
If you don't care about the old diff use a grinder and cut into the end of it until you get through the bearing. Don't hit the speedo gear and you'll be fine. It's a pain though.
