ATX CD4E only works in first gear (1) and reverse
When placed in D the car will not accelerate, or it accelerates very slowly. The engine revs and goes higher, but not linearly with vehicle speed. Same when placed in 2, however if the transmission is placed in 1, the car will accelerate normally for the most part.
And reverse works perfectly normal. So it seems like the transmission is slipping, but only in 2 and D. 160K miles and did a full flush probably about 110K miles. Its night time so I haven't really look at it yet. The (!) by the odometer did come on after I tried reving it to drive. Any ideas?

Time for a rebuild.

Re: ATX CD4E only works in first gear (1) and reverse
Pretty much the same thing happened to mine. I never did find out exactly what was wrong with it but the dealer recommended I have a Ford re-manufactured unit installed. It cost me a total of $3,000 but came with a 3 year 36,000 mile warranty.
