Question Need Help...2001 cougar I4 MTX wont move!

Ok so i was being a tuff guy and did a little burnout pulling out of a stop sign and something went bang. I figured I broke the axle because it sometimes grabs if i ease into it but then it seems like it sips and makes a bunch of loud banging noises like the splines on the axle are sheered off. I replaced the drivers side axle hoping that was the problem but it wasn't. If anyone can help i would appreciate it.

You, my friend, blew your differential. That's a transmission rebuild, right there. Kiss that tax refund goodbye - and buy a better diff.

Nah; it happens. It's just a good excuse to buy a new Torsen differential, like I just did...
