Re: spec stage one break in

Revs have nothing to do with break in. It's throttle position and how you shift that break in a clutch.

No more than 50% throttle during engagement for the first 500 miles. Stop-and-go traffic is best (where you'll be on and off the clutch the most). Smooth engagement is the key.

You're trying to seat the disc with both the pressure plate and flywheel during the break-in. The only time you'll be prone to damage is heating the poor thing up before it's had a chance to seat (i.e. slipping the clutch or high-throttle shifts where slippage is more violent and will glaze the disc, flywheel, pressure plate, or any combination of the three).

Re: spec stage one break in

thats just what I have been doing with my Stage 3+. nice easy and smooth as possible clutch engagement at low rpm. I have been running the gears out but I let the revs drop way down then smoothly engage the clutch again in the next gear. I have also been rollin ginto the power very granually, no punching it once in gear. It did slip the first night at a high power shift, couldn't help it the 3L just wanted to pull but I backed right off when I felt it slip. no more of that. Been doing stop and go driving around town.

Re: spec stage one break in

oh this wont take me long to brake in just because i drive so much. As for 1/4 miles i dont really race my car so i wont be too hard on my clutch. hell i got 134k out of my stock and it still didnt go out. lol it was going to this year probably though.
