Thumbs down OZ: Buyer Beware

Bought a CF GMK CAI from him for $160 over a month ago. Refused to provide shipping information. I have yet to receive the item.

I filed a dispute with paypal. The case was closed in my favor, however the funding source is non-existent so I'm out $160. Thanks bud!

Do you have a Visa or MasterCard debit card tied to your PayPal account?

Re: OZ: Buyer Beware

Ryan - I did use a Visa debit card. I was under the impression that since it wasn't technically a "credit" card I wouldn't have any refund options, but I shall call in the morning.

AND - the guy sent me a nice little PM saying "oh well....". If the Visa option fails, I'll have to ask for some specific user info and take appropriate action against him.

Re: OZ: Buyer Beware

I pretty sure with a credit card your safer because the credit company can go after them for the money. However I don't know about a debit/credit card, but I'd imagine it would be the same right?

Re: OZ: Buyer Beware

That's exactly right. I'm not sure exactly how it works, or why it's exclusive to credit cards, but my impression is that the credit card company can force paypal to provide the funds. My buyer's account is now linked to my credit card...live and learn.

I sent him a PM stating my last cooperative move; if I don't have the money by the end of the week then I'll start with the researchin' .

Thumbs up Re: OZ: Buyer Beware

hey buddy! as far as i know if u win the case paypal will return u the money? i dont understand?! because u gave him (paypal) the money then this guy takes all the founds out, but here is the thing, u cant fisically take the money out of the paypal account, u need to get it out of the paypal account electronically to ur chekin account, lets say bank of america. so paypal knows where the money went! the thing is that paypal should be able to take that money out of his chekin account, if his account is in zero balance then hi is gonna have negative numbers and the bank will charge him a fee for that! thats what i think should happen find out with paypal u can chat with them live!

Re: OZ: Buyer Beware

its not as simple as paypal reaching into someones bank account and extracting the money. Also he can use them money online with an unverified account so there is not tracking of the money.

Re: OZ: Buyer Beware

Just go through your credit card company to get the money back. paypal sucks in getting your money back.

Re: OZ: Buyer Beware

After calling Visa, a representative promptly issued a refund. This was surprisingly simple. I hope paypal takes the money that they give BofA directly from OZs past funding source.
