New too LA
This is my frist 99 Cougar! I have previously owned a 86 Cougar XR-7 auto w/ 2.3 Turbo, and a 91 Cougar auto w/ V6. Botj car were full of mods. I'm very good a credating custom turb systems, soon I will begine too build a turbo system for my 99 cougar, jsut ned too find a block too start w/ yet. Well a little about my self I live at Ft. Polk, well stationed there, currently I'm in Iraq have been here for a year now will be home in a few more weeks. I'm maried, and love too wrench-on cars! Well do you guys do any meets in La? Well info about this car also would help, like base line spec's. Been looking for them, I have a V6 w/ 5-speed, when I get home I'm putting in a super chip and injen intake w/ K&N filter. Would like too know how much more base line sutff I can do too get a power increase out of this Cougar. I'm all about power, little on the looks. Thanks, Dave

RE:New too LA
hey man, welcome to NECO! Pretty much any technical information you could ever think to find you can find here. V6 turbo is going to be a little tricky, but it has been done. there is a guy with a turbo SVT contour in Houma, LA and he did it all himself. If you dont have your heart set on a turbo a 3.0 swap might be for you, with the right work those things put down some stupid amounts of power. We'll have to try and get together when you get back, we're all pretty much in south louisiana (baton rouge and new orleans, mainly)
