Re: How are things ?

i'll sound like a noob here.. but i'm guessing there's a special tool to put in wristpins.. which would make sense i guess... they do need to be held together pretty good.. I have a friend who works at a plant and does auto work out there.. i'm sure he could attach the two.. he's just so busy lately with a turn around he's on that i don't want to bother him with engine building.. just wasted all my money on rims tires a body kit and about to get it painted.. but after i save up some more money.. i'll be buying all the stuff for my bottom end rebuild.. i'll buy any tool's you need.. and not sure how much you'd charge to do it.. but i'll ask you about it when i get the parts...

btw: i found that cougar that was for sale.. http://batonrouge.craigslist.org/car/660206715.html

Re: How are things ?

Funny that you mention that cougar...I used to know the guy who did all that to the car...It really looked amazing up close. I purchased my springs and struts, big brake kit, and superleggera's and a few other things from him a long time ago..Then he sold it and i guess the new owner is selling it. The funny part is that those wheels are the factory wheels from my car. Just thought i would throw that in.

Re: How are things ?

its not really a "special tool" its more like a torch. you heat up the piston and the rod and the wristpin should slide into place. dont worry about buying the misc. tools im going to be needing them anyway when i rebuild a spare 455 i got.

i work at a gas plant as well. we have been shipping 6-packs of argon to a place that is doing a turn around. i think its something "furnace and pipe". it sucks working long days, i dont feel like working on the car when i get home.

Re: How are things ?

g'z, that's how much I bought my cougar for stock.. with 110k on it.. just thought about that. I just don't know if I could buy something with airbags.. unless it was a secondary car.. i've just seen them not work too many times

Re: How are things ?

I think it has strut bags not sure though...but if so it shouldnt be too hard to convert back with some springs and struts...dont take my word for it though..if i could see under it i could tell you more clearly.

Lets just say at the time it was sold the first time...the car was deffinatly done proper. The paint was amazing...but theres no telling how the next owner treated it.
