Turbo

I'm going to turbo my Cougar.. 2.0 zetec, and i was wondering if anyone else here has a turbo.. even if it's on the 6.. I'm looking to buy parts locally, mostly the rods pistons and intercooler/piping.. I'll also be looking for a place to tune.. if anyone knows a shop that will do my car. I found one in Walker where i live, but they only tune GM.. but yea.. hopefully i can actually stay focused and get my project done haha.. any help with car shop locations would be great..

go check out the marvo gato (or whatever its called) in the forced induction section

Hmmm c0alition if your pockets are deep enough a turbo zetec shouldnt be a problem. You might want to check out the 2.0 zetec performance section tho because i believe there are several people who have turbo'd their 2.0's. Also you may want to look on focus or escort forums for the pistons and rods for your car. I dont believe that anyone local will have those. As for tuning i know we have Joey with Nautilus Performance they are also based out of Houma La. They have a website with mods for the 6 but they might be able to tune the 4. good luck

try contacting TurboZetecTour too. he has turbod his contour (same engine bay) and ive seen him offer his kit to other members in a couple threads.

well, i have the turbo.. and manifold is on the way. my big deal will be all the engine rebuilding. i'd love to build a new engine using the cgi block from focus power, and get the ported head.. and intake manifold.. but it's soooo expensive. I've been saving up for a while.. and budgeted enough for the basic parts of turbo and low end rebuild.. but to get the block head and intake i'm gonna have to sell a few things.. I have a 1990 f150 I got for free.. i figure if i can sell it for 1k, and get my laptop sold for about 2k.. i should be able to just build the engine, then drop it in.. would be alot less downtime.. I guess waht's i'm getting at is.. i don't really want a kit.. i'm doing this as a project.. really just a learning deal.. a really expensive one haha

no, didn't just scroll over the FI section.. i've probly read most of the threads.. when i said here, i meant locally in louisiana, my bad. I was just trying to get together with someone here who's messed with it so if i have questions i could get help, but yea dane i'll check with nautilus for the zetec tune thanks!

cool, regardless im sure he would have some good tips for you I would love to take on a turbo project on mine but dont have the cash as im a student. it would be cool if you took alot of pictures through the build and kept an up to date thread on it.

Yea.. i'm always up for knowledge from someone with experience. I'll definately take lots of pics and post.. my biggest deal is.. i have to stay on track and actually get it finished ha..
