Anybody Know Anything About Morrissport Dampers

Included with the car I just bought is a set of new Morrissport dampers. They have separate gas adjuster canisters and look to be 3 way adjustable. They are brand new and come with the top hats.

I may be wrong but it looks like Morrissport Dampers looks is no longer in business so I can't go to them to find out what they are. Anybody have any idea about these shocks and where I can go to get info on them?

I have a set of Dynamics on the car and I am trying to decide if I should keep them as spares or are they a better race shock than my 4 way Dynamics.

Re: Anybody Know Anything About Morrissport Dampers

I'm taking a wild guess and saying you have cmac's old car... which in that case, you're going to be the only one running that equipment.

I'm going to say pics would be GREATLY appreciated as that car is suspension wise farther along than anyone else.

Re: Anybody Know Anything About Morrissport Dampers

I don't know who CMac is, sorry. The car was originally built by the Mumm Bros. (based on the Capaldi car but with a few upgrades) over six years in the late 90's to 2002 and it is a work of art. It ran a few WC races and then was sold to the Dipchand Family up here in Canada. It was raced a few more times by them and suffered a few bumps and bruises. I bought the car in March 2008 and since that time I have been working on restoring the car to its original state and trying to understand the reams of information provided to me by the Mumm Bros.. By the way, they are great guys and understand more about the chassis dynamics of a Cougar than most. The car came with 6 binders of information and at least 3 cd discs of data. Barry Mumm was very detail oriented and it has been fantastic to go through the development process with them. I have a complete Ford of Europe suspension and drivetrain analysis, a Bill Mitchell geometry analysis including recommendations and a Dynamic Suspension Shock analysis determining correct spring rates and shock settings. Just bloody fantastic stuff that has little to no application for a street car, sorry.

Anyways, when I bought the car it came with 2 truckloads of spares, motors, Quaife transaxles, mounts, shocks, water misters, a complete spare SDS ignition and fueling system, a spare complete formed stainless header and dual exhaust system with anti reversion cones and stepped diameters to maximize extraction. In the spares was a set of brand new Moriss dampers that I know nothing about along with a used set of Ground Control coilovers. The company is now defunct so it is impossible to review the products with them, so I am turning to you guys for help.

I have never come across them, so I know nothing about them. I have included a couple of photos from the Capaldi car's suspension and mine is very similar, just with Dynamic Shocks, Forgeline wheels and complete brakes and in-car sway bar adjustment systems.

Bump.........

Nobody here has any information about Moriss Dampers? They look the business, but I don't even know the valving so they are an unknown quntity for my race car. Even a contact to somebody who has run them would be a big help.

It sounds like most of the components on that car are custom one off parts. I don't believe Morrissport ever released anything that would work as a stock replacement for the Cougar/Contour. You'll have better luck searching google for the company or someone that has used them on any car.

Re: Anybody Know Anything About Morrissport Dampers

Thanks for the advice, great minds think alike. That is what I did to start with and after researching the company I think it went out of business sometime in the 2003-2004 time frame. So I "Googled" users and found a bunch of guys that Moriss Dampers left hanging and out of pocket when they went out of business.

I have posted threads on a number of sites with no responses so far, but I live in hope.

Thanks for your interest.
