lol i get your point.. all i know is i need struts and springs that are good quality for cheapest price.. in other words i hered that D2's where the best quality... but i can't fine a kit with GC springs and Koni struts. i want to buy both products together that way i dont get compatibility issues. i hope someone understands my frustration lol

Re: D2 Coilover Damper Kit

Well, you heard right about the D2's being the best quality - but it obviously comes at a price

The Koni's and Ground Controls are not sold as a "kit" (two different companies)

So long as you get them both for the 99/00 cougar, you'll be fine. I believe each company only makes ONE type for the car...

here are the shocks - Mercury 99-02 Cougar - Sport (Yellow) Front-8710 1368 Rear- 8710 1294

and there are the GC's - Coilover Conversion kit, 95- Ford Contour/99-00 Cougar Product SKU #4015

Re: D2 Coilover Damper Kit

okay here where i make my argument.

the d2 kit comes up to $1,097.95

with the website you suggested.

koni's are $774.00
GC's are $419.00

total of $1193.00

here's my source for the d2's D2 Kit

you could buy my brand new Ksports for $800 shipped shoot me a PM if your interested, they have like 15 miles on them and will come ready to install in the car with upper mounts and everything.

most of us on CEG seem to think that the D2s and Ksports are actually the same setup, although both companies claim they arent, the similarities are just stunning.

completely. they are exactly like the D2s, only orange instead of purple.

Edit: I cant control Canadian Customs though so if they charge you its not my fault. For $800 i will take them off the car, box them up, and ship them via your prefered shipping company (UPS, FedEx, USPS, DHL, etc)

Do you have any pictures of your Ksports before they were installed or what they look like now installed? Did you choose a spring rate/stiffness?

i completly forgot to take pictures of the assembled units before install. however, before i remove them tonight i will get some pictures of them in the car as well as some pics of them off the car.

I did not choose a spring rate but went with the default rate. im sure i could have chosen rates if i wanted to though.

edit: spring rates that i got were 5.2 front 5 rear
