Koni's VS kyb?

Gonna get struts for when i put coil-overs on. Wondering what you guys would recommend. Im not much of a hard core driver but i wanna get my moneys worth.

kyb's would run about 70 each+ shipping. around 300$ for all 4

Koni's are about 160-180 each+ shipping. around 500-600$ for all 4

is the 100$ more each worth the koni's? or does anyone know where i can find them a little cheaper.

Thanks

If your going with a coilover set-up, buy the koni's. 500-600 bucks is a pretty good price.

Re: Koni's VS kyb?

you get what you pay for...

nothing is more important than your brakes, and your suspension. Don't be cheap... especially if you are already dropping the cash on coil-overs...

If you're doing coil overs then you definately want the Koni. The KYBs are crap. I put a set on my Maxima and they blew out at about 20K miles. The OEM that they replaced were in better shape at 120K.

And remember, when you change your shocks you also need an alignment.

Would you guys say i need the camber kit that BAT offers?

Also does Baer still make the brake kit for contours and cougs?

Re: Koni's VS kyb?

Hi, I have another question. I bought Eibach springs and I want to know what would be better for them. The Monroe Sensatrac or the KYB struts. KYB are a little more expensive but they are about the same. It's my daily driver so I want my car to be a little more lower and to handle better thats all. thanks

Re: Koni's VS kyb?

Welcome to the forums. The KYBs have a good reputation as a solid stock replacement...they don't add much in the way of performance. I'm sure the Monroe wouldn't either. Based on the reputation, I'd go with the KYBs.

I <3 my Eibachs...you'll love them.

Re: Koni's VS kyb?

I always heard that KYB struts where junk on our cars. I would go to BAT and get there struts, they are alittle firmer and will work great with lowering springs.

Not at all. I recently took the camber kit off my car because I wasn't happy with it.

not unless you plan to run ground controls with over a 2 inch drop .... but have an alignment done and see if it needs it.
