Me vs. Chevy Trailblazer

i was drivin home with one of my friends and i lined up with some guy in a chevy trailblazer. i wasnt thinkin anything of it. but the light turned green and he took off. i was laughin to myself cuz i didnt think many SUV's would have a chance. well, i floored it and never managed to catch up until the next light....which pissed me off. so at this light we both took off and his launch killed me. he just jumped out a car length or two in first gear.....most likely cuz im still learning with an mtx...but still. when i hit third i started gaining, and by fourth i was passing him. the same thing happened at the next light. so, i looked up the trailblazer when i got home and its a lot faster than i thought.

I guess the lesson here for me is do not underestimate those big bulky slow looking SUV's. btw, if u guys have some tips for taking off, post em.

Yeah those things have alot of power as well...like 270 hp! But I agree if you can nail your launches you should be able to beat him.

Tom, if you can keep your car still at 3K and just pop out the clutch as you ease into the gas you jump off the line so fast you'll freak. I use 3K and it works well, but try your own launching rpms.

I sell chevy's the trail blazer has an Inline 6 cyl. 270hp, there' no difference between the LT and the LTZ other than leather and some options, the enigne and suspension is the same in all.. so those times are different cuz one has leather and might be heaver or lighter.
