no, this was in the contour. MTX V6 with headers, intake and exhaust... sorry guess I should've been more clear on that. my car has alot of getup and go, and at 70 mph it sits at 3.5k with the butterflies open... so to get owned starting at that speed REALLY took me off guard.

nah, the joke was made referring the zetec as to being slow, so I stated ATX V6 since they are just as slow, if not slower than an mtx zetec

Engine bay of my Sundance "Duster"

Not really a fan of those sundance pictures posted. The Canadian one just needs to lose that WRX hoodscoop.
Glad they make new cars though because the 80's-90's cars often look sorta...crappy. That early 90's cougar looks like a 2 door Dodge Spirit (i have one) and its definitely not getting me any dates lol.

My sundance is a piece of crap i will admit! Ive seen some Shadows that I like...I like their Front grills more. I cant justify the body work on a crappy old car like mine unless I was loaded. Dodge had a lot of bad paint in the early 90's because they tried to save money not using primer. Early 90's chevy trucks have the same issue.

My first introduction to the new cougar was in one of the early gran turismo games? It sorta pissed me off cause I just wanted to drive the viper and the fast cars in that game as a child :P I think it was a license test so I had no choice. But my cars have never been in a good video game so props!
I hate FWD and..thats all I own haha. Sorry for those of you who share my idiocy

Re: owned by 89 plymouth sundance RS

Ah man, this thread is making me nostalgic. I got my driver's license in '89, so for a better part of the 80's I was dreaming about which car I would someday drive. Back then there was really no such thing as a sport-compact, and living in northern Michigan a foreign car was one that drove up from Wisconsin. If you wanted a 'sportscar' your choices were few. There was the random rich kid w/ the mustang or camaro, but the rest of us were left to choose from whatever else had come out of Detroit. MonteCarlos/Regals were affordable and relatively fast, but if you wanted something that actually 'drove' like a sportscar, then you really had to search. Granted the 4th gen MonteSS's handled well but I digress. There were a handful of cars that were not only affordable, but had just enough power and handling to fit the bill. From Dodge/Chrysler came the Shadow/Sundance, and Daytona/Laser, both of which were available w/ ‘ground effects’ to look fast, and for those who could actually afford to go fast; turbos. The Daytona was much more common (and attainable) as it had come out in ’84 whereas the Shadow was still pretty new, coming out 3 yrs later. For a short while, I drove an ‘85 Daytona 2.2l Turbo which was, in my recollection, a reasonably fast car. Granted the Shadow and Daytona may not be the best looking cars (by today’s standards) but remember ‘good-looking’ is as relative a term as ‘fast’. For some of us, those cars bring back the memories of driving that first fast car, something you, nor I, will ever forget. There were other similar cars back then and I’ve owned most: Fiero, CavalierZ24, EscortGT, and one few have ever heard of, the EscortEXP (of which I’ve owned 3). Yes, each of these cars are distinctly 80’s and not nearly as ‘fast’ as similar cars today, but like my father who swears the best cars were made in the 60’s, I have a special appreciation for cars of the 80’s. That being said, I will argue all day long that the best cars ever came out the early 90’s, but that’s an entirely different thread isn’t it…
