Tailgaters...

Ok, now that I got that out of my system. I was riding the Z1K to work the other night when a crown vic decided to pull out behind me and drive right off my rear tire. Now normally the police officer will read the plate then back off a bit. This one kept right on my tire for about a mile and a half. Finally I got fed up with it and pulled over. Sure enough he pulled over right behind me and just sat about 3-4 car lengths back. Both of us just sat there for about 5 minutes before he finally put on the blues and decided to approach me. He then had the nerve to ask me why I pulled over. I explained to him how he was endangering me and so forth by tailgating. He tried to justify it by saying they have had a lot of problems with bikers. I asked him if I did anything wrong, to which he replied "no". After that, I promptly asked for his badge number (his name and cruiser number were clearly visible.) After going back and forth about 3 times over why, he declined to give me that information and told me to get to work and not to do anything stupid. Then he started to head back to his car. As he was doing this, I called the local police department... On speakerphone... And he froze in his tracks. He honestly looked like a deer caught in the headlights when I asked for the LT on duty (family friend) by name. Needless to say, he won't be doing that to me again. Sadly enough, it seems like this happens any time I have the bike out after dark.
