I am curious to know if this happens as much in the USA as it does here. You know the guy/girl who comes down the outside of a lane of traffic puts their indicator on and cuts in front of you at the last minute.
I live in Sydney Australia and it is becoming more and more prevalent and you know its funny with people who do this because when you refuse to let them in they abuse you. It's like its your fault, you are the one doing the wrong thing. I don't know where these people get off thinking they are so important that every one has to get out of their way because well they can't be bothered being patient and waiting their turn. OH NO they have to go straight to the head of the line. Or even worse... The guy/girl who goes down the outside lane right up behind a car that is turning left/right then cuts in and turns themselves. Well I have one thing to say to them.... NOT IN FRONT OF THIS LITTLE BLACK DUCK !!! (don't even bother because it aint gonna happen). ![]() Just curious if it happens in the US. |

Re: "CUTTING IN" is it an Aussie thing ????
It depends on where you are, some places are worse then others. Cincinnati I found is extremely bad for that.

I find this doesn't happen if your just nice enough to let people in like 5 seconds out of your life isn't going kill you. Im not defending irresponsible drivers who switch lanes radically but if they have their turn signal and have enough time to properly move you should be nice and let them in.

^ If someone is making a good honest attempt to change lanes, I'll let them in. However, I don't offer the same courtesy to those who drive like idiots and cut in and out through traffic, tailgating everyone.

Re: "CUTTING IN" is it an Aussie thing ????
^hes talking about situations where say the right lane ends... well they zip all the way up to where it ends, and expect to get in front of the traffic who got over when they were supposed to.... and the traffic is usually CAUSED by those who wait to get over TO BEAT IT!
yes is happens here, not in florida as much though really. People seem to be much nicer on the roads here but meaner in person. When I lived in Chicago, it was COMPLETELY opposite. Nice people, asshole drivers....

happens here all the time. especially when there's two lanes and one shortly ends after a traffic light, so there's always a few cars in the right lane that ends and races the traffic in the other lane to get to the front of the line when the light turns green, and then everyone just stops together at the next light.
some people just don't get it i guess... |

Re: "CUTTING IN" is it an Aussie thing ????
yeah, some people really do it on accident thought too
i was visiting friends in illinois and without warning, the lane ended on the other side of a hill, so i was stuck in this lane and people were looking at me like i'm some sort of an asshole, completely ignoring the fact that a.) there WERE NO SIGNS SIGNALING THE ENDING OF THE LANE. PERIOD. and b.) my car had Florida Tags, so they could easily assume I didn't know where the **** lanes ended and where they didn't. In short, I sat there for a good half hour waiting for the person who was going to let me in, only to find out that person either didn't exist or wasn't on that road. So I finally got pissed, pulled up my e-brake, and spun the tires long enough to scare this dude in a benz enough to stop so i let off the e-brake and slid right into the flow of traffic. Goes to show you how pissed i was! ![]()
