So I have gotten a ticket every time that I have been pulled over. Not once have I been off with a warning and have a nice day. This has always been something that makes me mad after hearing from all of my friends about how they got pulled over for going 20 over and let off with out any ticket. I have gotten 4 tickets now for speeding. Once every year I get a ticket for speeding starting at 16. I'm 19 now and the other day I was going through a neighborhood doing only 5 over because I hate people who speed with kids out. Any ways there are 4 stop signs that I have to pass to get to the main street I am headed for. first one I roll through quickly along with the second because cops never sit there. Coming up to the third on I get this wierd feeling like there is a cop around but I put that thought to the back of my mind. As I slow down to 10mph to roll through the 3rd stop sign I see a cop sitting on the side street. I stop half way in the intersection for a good 4 seconds. then I take off at a normal speed and see his car start to move.

In my head I'm thinking o **** thats going to be for me so i put my seat belt on throw the radar in the floor and pull over at the next side street. I then turn off the car and take the keys out and place them on the dash. the officer asked me for my ID and insurence card which the insurence card was at home. he goes back to his car comes back and tells me to stop at the stop sign next time instead of when I see the cop car.

I was so happy about this that i had to call my friends and tell him.

So it annoys you when people speed through a neighborhood with kids, but rolling through a stop sign at 10 mph in a neighborhood is safe? Lost me on that one...

Sounds to me that you are constantly asking for tickets if you are driving without a seat belt, leaving your insurance card at home, and using a radar detector (I don't know if they are illegal in your state, but if so, then that doesn't help your case).

Now, I used to be kind of in the same situation as you so I really shouldn't be talking, but I've changed my habbits. I've had 4 tickets as well, but been pulled over 9 times. So I'm a bit luckier than you, but it's all the same in the end. But I haven't been pulled over in about 2 years now. I decided I didn't want to give any more money to the government than I had to and started slowing down. And amazingly, it doesn't take me any longer to get anywhere around town! Sure, on a 6 hour drive I might get there 20-30 minutes sooner if I speed, but even that isn't worth the $120 ticket.

Wow, 4 tickets and you're only 19? Doing 5 over in a neighborhood because you don't like people who speed in neighborhoods? And you had to throw on your seatbelt because you weren't wearing it?

Who allowed you to drive? 7-8 infractions and you don't get a ticket? WTF. But I am sure the only reason you didn't get a ticket, was because the cop had never seen someone try to make up a missed stop by coming to a complete stop in the middle of an intersection.

yeah it does not look good for me when you look at how many tickets I have gotten, but for the most I have slowed down and have become more responsible even thought it might not appear like it after reading my first post.

I have 4 speeding tickets.
1--22over
2--18over I swear he got the other car though
3--16 over
4--18 over was written for 14 over

3 car accident I was side swiped by a car and forced into another going 45mph---reported old car 93 concord
rear ended by friend--no real damage no report cougar
car was parked on the side of the road, and was hit by a drunk driver who I ended up knowing--reported cougar

caught once for rolling stop sign, read above----warning.

sad thing is my insurence does not know about any of it. tickets all got fixed to parking tickets and both reported wrecks went throught the other company. my agent told me not to get him in to it unless he had to or else it would cause my rate to go up.

IT WAS A STUPID THING THAT I DID and I have stoped for the most part with speeding and i roll through the stop signs alot slower now. Im sorry but like 90% of the people here in st.louis roll stop signs. (not saying that its ok but its how things are here.

How dare that cop give me a ticket, I only ran 3 stop signs, was driving without my seatbelt, no insurance card, only speeding at 5 over...What an asshole, I tell ya!
