    Clarifying Lean problem...

This weekend I installed an exhaust and SRI. When installing the SRI I used the MAF tha was attached the new(to me) filter. It came off of an 02. I have a 99. Before the installation I had no CEL. Post install of filter and MAF and now have lean codes for both banks. P0171& P0174. My question to be is: Can a faulty MAF cause those errors? I plan on putting my regular one back on, but am curious.

the size of the mafs are a bit different so that may cause a bit of a change, i would put the 99 maf back on and see if it comes back

Yeah a faulty MAF would set those codes, but like jagged said the size could make a difference. I think its either faulty or you have a leak after the MAF. The computer should of been able to compensate for the different size if it was receiving the currect data from the MAF.
