Power windows and flashing CEL help

Hey there, I have a few problems with my 99 cougar.

Firstly, the power windows are a little "wonky". The drivers side does not work at all. The passenger side will roll up not down, and the driver side will roll the passenger side window down but not up? not exactly sure whats going on there. new switches?

Secondly, When I hit 110km/h in 5th gear my CEL will flash. when I back off from 110 it goes back to a solid light. The car seems to run fine up until around there, and then around 110 it lacks power.

Thanks in advance for your help!

    Windows-Probably switches going out.
    Flashin CEL- Normally means misfire.
Solid CEL- Have the codes pulled. There is something wrong somewhere.

These wdo/lock switch's are mounted in in the worst place on these cars.any time it rains out the water will drip right down off the roof and right onto the switch's.i have taken all of my switch's out and took them apart.what you will find is the brass contacts inside the switch's get coroded and won't make contact.take some sand paper or steel wool and clean them up good then inside the switch with some electrical spray and clean that out also with a fine dental pick or paper clip.blow them out with air if you have a compressor and you should be good to go.these switch's run $45.00 -$65.00 appiece when i priced them a couple years ago before i did the above.i have yet to buy one.every time i clean them they work fine until water gets at them again andd then do it all over again.godd luck..............

Thanks everyone. Cleaned the switches and everything works again. And also, replaced spark plugs and wires and flashing CEL went away.

    Thanks again!
