    Cel, p1151, 0171, 0174

Ok so background on my car.

ATX V6 with 123k miles, with rear valve cover gaskets done over summer. and the wires replaced with motorcraft over summer cuz bought the cheap kind.

So on the way back to college, my car begins to misfire and pretty much shut down on me. Ive got the >3000 rpm symptom but also have hesitation/lagging issues when i tried to pass someone on the highway( this occured first then moments later the CEL flashed telling me a misfire). I had this problem a month back and thought it was sparkplug wire issue so i replaced them under warranty, considering i had to replace them a few months back. So im wondering any thoughts/ experiences with these codes. I got a print out of AZ and i understand what it could be, and im takin my car tomorrow and paying the $80 fee to get it completely diagnosed. im thinking injector issue maybe?

So any thoughts/comments on the issue? just mainly looking for an idea so i know what im walking into.

p.s i tried to research the topic a little but a biochem test is looming over my head and i cant. so thanks in advance!

I also remember reading that i need to replace the wires and the plugs if i do either or because of sensitivity issue and i have replaced the plugs since 80k miles or so ( the first time i bought wires for the car). so i guess by what u just said, either ive blown another plug and/or wire. Could it also be a coil pack issue?

    Re: Cel, p1151, 0171, 0174

always change the plugs and wires together. you have an issue there.

    as for the codes:

    P0171System Too Lean - Bank No. 1.

    P0174System Too Lean - Bank No. 2.

P1151Lack of Upstream Heated Oxygen Sensor Switch - Sensor Indicates Lean - Bank No. 2.

you need a new upstream O2 sensor on bank 2.

also you may need to clean the maf or you have a vacuum leak.

    Nice work, Brapple!

One bad O2 sensor can cause many a problem!
