Another one for this weeks project

Ok well Like I have said my transmission is shot and I am going to do some work on the cougar this week while she is down.

Everytime I turn on my A/C i am getting this weird griding/whining noise coming from under the hood. My camaro made the same noise until I replaced the tensioner on it. But I looked at my tensioner and it doesn't seem to be the problem. The belt is really tight, no signs of wear, and no cracks in the pulley. What else could be making this noise? I thought maybe the drain on the alternator but I haven't been under the car to put some graphite in there yet to see if that is making the noise./

Re: Another one for this weeks project

If it's happening when you turn on the A/C I would suspect the A/C clutch.
