Re: Header Bolts

The Nuts & Bolts Guide to: 2.5l/3.0l Engines

header nuts are 13mm
y-pipe nuts should be 15mm

if they are stock!

Re: Header Bolts

They are either 13 or 15mm, but the rust might be giving you problems. Might need to get some Craftsman bolt extractors.

Re: Header Bolts

I just took off exhausts from two diff cougs. My coug had sizes ranging from 14-17 mm and the other coug had 14-15mm. I had to use wd-40 to get them off...nothing special.

Yes... and make sure you get the second part of that kit too... When I bought mine, there were 5 in the case, but an extra 5 piece set can be bought to fill in the other 5 empty spaces in that red box...

trust me, with this car, you'll most likely need EVERy one of those bolt extractors at some point!

And due to heat and rust, the stock 15mm nuts for the y-pipe tend to wear down to 13 or 14mm sizes... you sometimes can hammer a socket on the nut, but chances are the bolts will break when loosening them...
