car wont move and its not the tranny

ok so a few mths ago i thought i blew the axel. so i puled the axel n it was fine so i was thinkin it was prob the tranny. i cant do that one myself so i brought it to a shop. they had told me either the tranny was gone or the clutch came out. then they sent my tranny out to another shop just for trannys. now they just came back n said the tranny is fine and so is the clutch. the car wont move and idk wat could be wrong its not the axel, clutch, tranny nothing. i was able to have the car in gear n have the clutch out n it wouldnt move. u could hear something rotating inside but idk wat it was. i would rly like to figure this out. i havnt driven my cougar in about 10 months

sounds like a bad tranny shop. if i had to take a guess i would say bad diff. got any bad noises when you try to move it?

I had a transmission shop once tell me that my transmission was fine and the noise I was hearing was the engine. Several months (and about 500 miles) later, the tranny blew. I didn't mention the noise to the shop that did the diagnosis after it blew, and THEY brought it up and said it was a clear sign that the torque converter was gone. Conclusion: the people at the first transmission shop were idiots. There's no way they could've failed to hear the noise; it did it very consistently.

That was an E4OD instead of a CD4E, but the lesson holds. You have some sort of tranny/diff/clutch issue, clearly. Or the halfshafts are both snapped, or at least one CV joint on both sides are totally thrashed and disconnected, but you would think the shop would've noticed those problems, so again, you need a different shop.

well ive blown the diff fukin 3 times so i kno for a fact its not that cuz id kno wat that sounds like n its not the same. no it doesnt rly make any noize at all just that u can hear something rotating but idk wat. IF the tranny, clutch and axels are fine then wat else could it even be?

how could it be the engine? its got to be something to do with the drivetrain not the engine. the engine runs fine theres nothing worng with that. the car just dont move.

where are you located? maybe you could have a fellow member look at it for you cause it sounds like your current mechanics/ trans shops are a joke

well its at a FORD dealerships so idk y they cant figure it out. they of all people should kno.
