Tranny Screwed?

Ok its like the rpms move normally but the car speed is like a Geo Metro running on one cylinder. The transmission light came on the orange one not the green one and started flashing. does anyone know what might be wrong?

Re: Tranny Screwed?

Your check engine light started flashing? That's most likely a misfire. Get your codes pulled at Autozone or Advance and post them here.

Re: Tranny Screwed?

do you mean the one that is the "!" in a triangle? if so then I do believe that is a atx problem and that normally isn't good.

if it was the CEL and it was blinking then it would be a missfire and that could reduce power..

but with it reving like normal and the speed being lower then it should be sounds like a slipping transmission.

Ian the cougars I have noted have a warning light specifically for the transmission ... and this is what it sounds like here ...

Yes. You might get a cheaper quote elsewhere, but not by much.

This is why I had to get rid of mine.

There is a reason its called the "ATX light of DOOM"
