Re: IMRC Installation

you should be able to order a new bolt from ford. maybe like 5 bux or u can take one of the bolts you have and goto a hardware store and try and match it.

on removing it, you should be fine, remove the other bolts and remove the TB, use some vice grips and just unscrew the shank, there shouldn't be any thread damage to the upper intake manifold

This is what I was thinking. You'll probalbly be ok reusing the tb gasket. Ford will probalbly charge you an arm and a leg for a bolt, but I guess it's worth looking as you'll know you have the right one.

The torque specs for the tb are 72-108 inch-lbs, if you have a torque wrench. Otherwise, I've tightened them till they were just snug and it was fine.

I had to replace one bolt with a longer bolt when I put the svt throttle body on, since the bracket I received was wrong.

Re: IMRC Installation

I Dont Understand, If The Bolt Is Broken, Why Wont The Throttle Body Come Off If You Take The Other Three Bolts Out?

Re: IMRC Installation

The bolt broke off halfway through the TB - so there are threads holding on to the TB and manifold.

Re: IMRC Installation

I snapped the throttle body bracket bolt closest to the firewall off when I changed mine. I just let it go. Never had problems.

Re: IMRC Installation - NEW CODE

Hi all,

Okay - so I have a new code - it's P1131. The guy at Autozone said it was probably a fluke because of the hot weather, and to clear it and if it comes back, take another look. From what I've researched, it looks like it could be a leak somewhere - could it be from the TB stud bolt that's not holding on to anything?

BTW - I found a part number for it (W701632), but Ford dealer said it's discontinued and the only way to get it would be to order the entire TB...told him I'd check other places first. I've emailed fordparts.com to see if they have one. If not, does anyone know where else I could look? I don't have the exact measurements...
