Re: Acceleration problem

Okay, I will try that and hope that works. Do I have to get that at the Dealer, or would Advance or Auto Zone have it? And for how much? Thanks again.

Dealer item. I think they're around $200. Call BillJ (teamford on here) - he can probably get you a better price.

But, as B3NN3TT suggested in another thread, disconnect the IMRC and see if that's how your car runs when you are having the problem. If so, the problem is your IMRC; if not it's probably something else. Note having the IMRC disconnected will probably throw a CEL, so be ready for that.

Re: Acceleration problem

Thanks, I will give that a shot.

I sent a message to him, so hopefully he can help me out. I couldnt find it on the website.

And does anyone know where I can get all the SVT parts for the lite upgrade? I saw the post with the part numbers, but where do I get them from? are they all dealer items?

They are (if they're still available), but you'd be better off watching the For Sale forums...much cheaper that way.

Re: Acceleration problem

Will do. But is the IMRC still the problem if sometimes when I am accelerating, it is nice and smooth, but others, it feels like my rims are oblong, and I am sorta chugging along. I usually use third gear as my test gear, and i noticed this a week or two ago. Any suggestions?

Could it still be the intermittent IMRC?

Re: Acceleration problem

as said already..the imrc is probably suffering from heatsoak from the engine. Move it under the airbox (search imrc) or do what i did and put a heat shield under the imrc...try it, see how you go. If it works for you, spend the money saved on an SVT lite upgrade..if not, buy an imrc from the for sale section and save a bunch $$$...G.

Re: Acceleration problem

Well, as far as the "chugging along" part, I noticed it did it below 2k rpm. Could it be my rims are bent? Or something else? As far as I can tell after working on this car for a while, it was in a small wreck, but I dont know what is causing this. Thanks. I am probably going to relocate it to under my intake if possible.

Re: Acceleration problem

Examine your spark plugs closely. If they look the least bit weird, replace all six, AND all plug wires.

Re: Acceleration problem

That could very well be the prob, whenever I first got the car, I changed sparks but not wires. And I did get some water into my engine bay, so some water could be rusting one of my plugs. Thanks.

Re: Acceleration problem

I Was Having A Similar Problem, Intermittently Falling On Its Face. And All I Did To Fix It Was Plugging And Unplugging The Imrc Connector A Bunch Of Times And Putting Dielectric Grease In The Plug...try That Too
