I Can't get a signal from the PCM!
I got this 2000 mercury Couger 2.5L from a repo.It had ablown motor. I replaced the motor and went to Ford to get a KEY made so I can turn it over. The Ford mechanic said he couldn't get a signal from the PCM.I lost the neg battery cable and went to Oreillys and bought a generic cable.It was one single wire to the engine block.Does the stock cable have two wires one to the engine block and one run anywhere like fuse box or what not>? Let me know if anyone has any ideas.
