99 to 01-02 center console

(question is on edit2) OK so I finally decided to replace my 99 console with an 01-02 one. It was kinda hard taking it out and I think i took the shift knob off not the way it was suppose to come off lol... well you know how (on the atx) theres this tiny bolt on the side right? so i unscrew it and i slid the shifter off, but now i have the o/d wires left with the car and i have no idea how im gonna connect them back with the button on the shift knob... oh and im trying to modify the leather housing for the e-brake handle from 99 to 01-02 since its not a perfect match... should still work tho.. and yeah so far no other problems, let me know how that shift knob comes apart i dont wana break it thanks!

edit: popped the o/d button out, i guess i shouldve done that earlier

edit2: all done, the only problem was the leather cover thing for the e-brake handle, the old holes are visible since the 01-02 hole is somewhat bigger, i wonder how did you guys fixed this problem, the ones that swapped it? just ordered a new one from ford?? not sure how to explain it, but it seems like theres suppose to be some plastic cover going around the e-brake hole edges that goes on from the top, since there are holes made for something to be mounted there... sry for my bad english hahah
