Ive experienced some problems when pressing the gas, it doesn't go right away it takes a sec or two then it pulls all of a sudden. I have also problems starting it, its a scretting noise and the car doesn't turn over it just makes that sound after about 2 tries it turns on fine, and sometime the engine light comes on after it srectches and stays on until im almost out of gas, does any els have the same problem?

Re: Slow Take Off

Unrelated issues.

The screech on startup is because you need a new starter. If this goes on too long, you will need a new flexplate/flywheel, which costs a fortune to have replaced. So take care of that quick-like.

The bog on takeoff could be a number of things. I suggest you have your ECU read by a tech at your local auto parts store, then you'll have a better idea about what's going on. Guessing - you need new plugs/wires, or your IMRC is stuck open, or your secondary linkage is broken or disconnected, or you have a transaxle or clutch problem.

Re: Slow Take Off

have you had a chance to check your irc cause that controls your secondairs and if they are stuck open it will kill your low end tork if it is not tunned.

Re: Slow Take Off

is it the 4cyl or the v6? I had a bad take off because of a vacuum leak on the 4 cyl.

Re: Slow Take Off

The IMRC is a common issue. This has been covered a billion and one times.

I'm not the kind of guy who always just says "SEARCH, NOOB" (I hate people who always do that), but in this case - I think that's the way to go.

Run a quick site search for IMRC and you'll get all the info you need.

Re: Slow Take Off

IMRC: Intake Manifold Runner Control. Also called "secondaries", this is the control system that opens up the second set of 6 intake runners in the LIM when the engine reaches around 3400RPMs. It allows the engine to breathe through the entire manifold, increasing power

location:
its the small metal box under the plastic cover that says Duratec on it.

Found it, sorry new at this
