It was running fine for like a month or so now im getting multiple misfires more or less #2 sparkplug ... now someone told me to check my wires he told me to take one wire off and someone start my car and see if i see sparks coming from the wire and i have to do that to all six plugs .. but is that really safe ? or bad for my cougar ? Re: Quick Question About Sparkplug wires

did you replace the wires at the time you replaced the plugs?

how old are the wires? If its the original from the time you bought it, its a good idea to replace them with stock parts.

Re: Quick Question About Sparkplug wires

Always replace the plugs and wires at the same time.

Did you coat the insides of the plug boots with dielectric grease (good manufacturers will include a small tube with the wires when you buy them; otherwise you can buy grease in a tube by itself)?

And what brand of plug wires did you use?
