Passenger Side spindle

So I have been having this problem of my brakes grabbing when I am in reverse. Well today I had some time to take my car to the shop as it turns out my spindle is cracked on the passenger side. This is making to rotor grind against the caliber in reverse. The shop said they can get a used spindle and install it for 275 or so. Does anyone have an thoughts about the price is that to much for something like this. I have no knowledge in this department. Thanks in advance!

Re: Passenger Side spindle

If its the front one then make sure they put in a new wheel bearing... might as well since you have the opportunity.

Can nearly guarentee that soon after they replace the broken one with a "used" one that you'll need to go back and have them replace the wheel bearing, too...

Must have hit something pretty damn hard tp make the spindle (knuckle) crack!

I'll bet the little ear that the caliper bolts on to is broken off, and the caliper is holding on my one bolt.

$275 installed sounds like a fair deal, I guess, to have a shop do it. But I installed a used one on my car for $15 from a junkyard...

Re: Passenger Side spindle

That's the weird thing I don't remember hitting anything hard enough to break it. I really just don't have the time to rip it all apart.
