Re: stolen keys?

Changing the locks and PATS, but that won't be cheap.

You could get another key and have a dealer reprogram the car to use just those two keys - then stolen set won't be able to start the car. But they'll still be able to get in the car.

Keep it in the garage if you have one.

Re: stolen keys?

disconnect the battery. At least then they likely won't be taking the whole car as quickly.

You could go to the wrecker and get all the locks pretty cheap.

Re: stolen keys?

wait, can we get a little more back story?
what situation are you in here where they know what your car looks like and where to find it to take it?

Re: stolen keys?

Hamill, i was thinking about doing that just getting new locks for now and use one key to get in and a different one to start it since my key wouldnt open the locks off another cougar, is it hard to change the lock assembly?

my dealer said they would change the locks and ignition but id have to bring them the parts anyway since they can no longer order it.

but if i can just change the locks for now that would be great.

also if a junkyard has the locks but not the key can i have a key made off the vin or somehow?

Re: stolen keys?

Pm Drewmanfu0, hes used to have parts around to convert the whole car to jag keys. It changed all the locks on the car.

Jag Flip key set 2

Re: stolen keys?

although I havent seen drewmanfu for a while, yes his jag set would be a good option and pricewise its a steal.... I'd offer up my spare set leftover from the swap but to be honest I wouldnt be willing to sell it cheaper than his kit.
